To comply with federal requirements to safeguard financial and other confidential information, the University of Mississippi has developed comprehensive policies for maintaining the confidentiality of customer information. Although the University’s main customers are students, a customer is a student, employee, or consumer who has a relationship under which the University provides a financial product or service.
Safeguarding objectives of these policies are:
• Ensure the security and confidentiality of customer information in offices and data storage areas
• Identify and protect against anticipated threats to the security or integrity of confidential customer information
• Prevent the unauthorized access to, or use of, confidential customer information
